APPROACH

The approach that we would follow depends largely on the needs of our client, and is informed by either working on a project or retainer basis or a combination of the two.

Project work

Some of our clients prefer to contract us for very specific projects or services (e.g. recruitment and selection or remuneration). In such cases the client will brief us, we submit a proposal setting out the terms of reference, approach, time schedule, cost and standard conditions of service. On acceptance of the proposal we will deliver the agreed service. The completion of the project and is informed by either workers on a project or retainer basis, or a combination of the two.


Retained Hours

There are clients who need assistance in the full spectrum of our services. This typically happens in one or a combination of the following scenarios:

• Client is not large enough to warrant a full time human resource
  officer.
• The client is large but prefers to concentrate on their core
  business, regarding HR management as a line management
  function supported by human resource experts when needed.
• The client has an established HR department, but prefers to
  outsource specific specialist functions.

In such a scenario, clients assess how many hours and the nature of the HR assistance they need per month. The consultant is then retained of a fixed amount for a specified period (typically a year) to render the specified HR services. In so doing the client is guaranteed of the consulting time and the consultant is guaranteed of work for the agreed period.
