Where did you study? What qualification did you achieve?
I studied at the North West University in Potchefstroom. I have a degree in Human Resource Sciences and an honours degree in Industrial Psychology. I am currently busy with my Masters in Industrial Psychology which I hope to complete by the end of 2012.
Why did you decide on HR as a career?
Because people are my passion. Working with people brings me joy and seeing others achieving their goals fills me with feelings of satisfaction and gives me a sense of accomplishment on their behalf. The field of industrial psychology is extremely broad and the opportunities to help, not only people, but business, are never ending.
In 5 years from now, I see myself living in Cape Town and running my own practice as industrial psychologist.
Is there a specific area or discipline of HR that you particularly enjoy?
I really enjoy counselling, personal development, mentoring, coaching and any type of assessments. I am still young and have a lot to learn. I am not set on any particular discipline, since I only started my career in January 2012. What the road ahead holds for me is still unclear but what I do know is that it will definitely be a journey I will remember and cherish forever.
